This Monday at 9:15 AM – PST (12:15 PM – EST) on The Rock and Roll Coup D’état with Eddie Winters: Legendary Disk Jockey, Eddie Winters and Co-host Bodhi Lane will be chatting with legendary drummer, plane crash survivor and founding member of Lynyrd Skynyrd: Artimus Pyle!
Artimus Pyle joined the original line up of Lynyrd Skynyrd in the mid-70’s opening for acts like The Who and The Rolling Stones while performing some of classic rock’s most iconic songs such as “Sweet Home Alabama”, “Simple Man” & “Freebird”.
Artimus Pyle was also aboard the plane which crashed in 1977 killing 6 people including Skynyrd’s founding member and singer, Ronnie Van Zant. Artimus sustained several broken ribs and other injuries but was able to manage his way away from the crash site to get help, thus helping to save the lives of the 20 other passengers on the plane. Having served in the Marines, Artimus sights his military training as a key factor in how he instinctually sought help after the violent crash.
Artimus Pyle is a legend and an icon, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Member and an all around cool guy. You can catch him on tour, paying tribute to Ronnie Van Zant and the original Lynyrd Skynyrd with his group: The Artimus Pyle Band.
Join us on Monday, January 26th when Artimus Pyle and Eddie Winters get deep.
