our children off the streets and in the classroom, an answer
that will keep our children away from drugs and alcohol,
an answer the will give our children the hope they deserve
and the opportunities they need to be successful.
Funding for education in Illinois remains
unfair, creating large inequities and achievement gaps between
poor communities and wealthier ones.
Eddie Winters believes its time to separate
property taxes from Education funding, and eliminate the
inequities that are holding our children back. Year after
year your property taxes go up and the quality of our schools
go down.
Eddie will strengthen our after school programs,
expand access and increase the quality of early childhood
education. Ensuring we make the right investment in our
children’s future.

Protecting Homeowners, Reducing Property Taxes, Preserving
Neighborhoods
As a homeowner Eddie sees the same hidden
tax increases in our property taxes every year. That is
why Eddie “supports acquisition based assessments”.
This new way of calculating property taxes locks in your
assessment at the price you bought your home for –
ensuring your property taxes are predictable and manageable.
Eddie supports Senate Bill and House Bill 750. These bills
will help lower your property taxes and increase funds for
education at the same time.

Affordable, Quality Health Care
There has been a lot of talk about expanding
access to quality healthcare for all the people of Illinois,
but little action. Politicians in Springfield continue to
run around this issue, while our friends and families are
crippled by the skyrocketing costs of healthcare.
Eddie Winter’s believes that everyone in Illinois deserves
access to quality and affordable healthcare.
This means allowing small businesses, employing
a majority of our workers, to pool their resources and buy
insurance together. With this capability, small business
owners will be able to offer more benefits to more workers.
In addition, Eddie wants to bring more community
based health clinics to our community. These clinics will
give individuals, families and children the chance to receive
basic, quality health care, keeping them healthy and out
of emergency rooms.
Cracking Down on Corruption
Corruption is a spreading problem in Illinois
politics and government. A problem that Eddie will not stand
by and watch get worse. As your next State Representative,
Eddie will work to enact new laws that stop the corruption
in Illinois government, and punish corrupt elected officials.

Legislators in Springfield have made a complete
mess of our state – hurting our community with threatened
CTA shutdowns, increasing electric rates, corruption and
inattention to the gun violence ravaging our community and
the crime endangering our families.
Eddie Winters is sick and tired of our elected
officials playing politics with the things that mean the
most to us. As your next State Representative, Eddie will
be your voice in Springfield, working hard, rolling up his
sleeves and digging in to ensure big corporations like ComEd
can’t raise you electric rates without oversight.
Eddie will fight for tougher gun control
laws, to keep dangerous firearms off our streets and out
of the hands of criminals.

with his fellow legislators to protect the CTA – making
sure it remains fully funded and functioning to get you
